Three cubs born to a Namibian cheetah in Madhya Pradesh’s Kuno National Park

Namibian cheetah Ayesha has given birth to three cubs in Kuno National Park (KNP) in Madhya Pradesh’s Sheopur district, the Union Minister announced on January 3.

“Purr in the wild! We are excited to share the addition of three new members to Kuno National Park. Ayesha, the Namibian cheetah, has had a baby,” Union Minister of Environment, Forests and Climate Change said. Bhupender Yadav said on social media platform X.

He termed the development as a “huge success for Project Cheetah, conceived by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to restore ecological balance.”

“My heartfelt congratulations to all the experts involved in this project, Kuno wildlife stakeholders and wildlife lovers across India,” Yadav said in the post.

In March 2023, Siyaya, later renamed Jwala, gave birth to four cubs, but only one survived. His girlfriend, Jwala, was also transferred from Namibia to the KNP.
