Stalin says Tennessee government is creating barrier-free environments in new buildings.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin said in Chennai on Monday that the Tamil Nadu government has taken measures to create barrier-free environments and provide adequate washrooms in all new buildings, in addition to installing elevators and ramps. He stated that he is taking the following measures. Addressing a meeting of the State Advisory Committee on Welfare of Persons with Disabilities held at the Secretariat, he said training sessions were being held at the district level to create a barrier-free environment. He said the state government has taken steps to train sign language interpreters at a cost of 1.5 million rupees in collaboration with non-governmental organizations so that they can be sent to government and other events. Mr. Stalin also enumerated the measures being taken by the government for the welfare of the disabled.
