Siskiyou Co., Calif. — The National Cattle and Beef Association (NCBA) named six of the nation’s top cattle operators into Environmental Stewardship Awards Program (ESAP) Regionals for their environmental stewardship efforts at CattleCon24 in Orlando last week. Awarded as an award winner. Hart Ranch, a cow-calf operation in Siskiyou County in Montague, Calif., earned Region 6 honors, which in addition to California includes New Mexico, Arizona, Utah and Nevada.

“Cattle producers from coast to coast are committed to conserving natural resources for future generations,” said NCBA President Todd Wilkinson. “We are honored to recognize regional award winners who utilize innovative practices and exemplify environmental stewardship.”

ESAP was established in 1991 to recognize outstanding land managers in the cattle industry. His regional ESAP recipients come from all over the country and work on management activities specific to their environments, landscapes, and resources. A selection committee determined the winners based on eligible applications received from six of the seven regions. The regional winners of the 2023 Environmental Stewardship Awards Program are:

Region I: Tuck Farms, Moneta, Virginia.
Region II: JB Ranch, Immokalee, Florida
Region IV: G Bar C Ranch, Roston, Texas
Region V: Tower Rock Ranch, LLC, Mansfield, Washington
Region VI: Hart Ranch, Montague, California
Region VII: Bartholomew Cattle Company, Sheldon, North Dakota.
