Shahab Uddin for working together to protect the environment
DHAKA, 26 November 2023 (BSS) – Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Md Shahab Uddin today called on all stakeholders to cooperate in improving and protecting the country’s environment and biodiversity.
“If we all work together, we can improve the quality of our country’s environment.
Timely projects should be implemented to improve the environment,” said a review of the implementation progress of projects under the Ministry’s Annual Development Program (ADP) for 2023-24 held at the Ministry’s Secretariat. He spoke at the meeting.
The Environment Minister said that the pace of environmental conservation activities in the country will increase as the number of environmental projects increases.
He said everyone should love their country and work together to improve the quality of the country’s environment.
Shahab-ud-din said that the re-excavation of ponds and beer in haor area should be completed in time.
He appealed to the concerned authorities for the creation of green belts in Sheikh Russell Aviary and Eco Park in Rangnia, Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar, environmental restoration and ecotourism development, Sundarbans Conservation Project, Sundarbans Management Support Project, Sylhet. Afforestation and infrastructure development projects in forest areas.
Habibn Nahar, Deputy Minister of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Dr. Farhina Ahmed, Minister of Environment, Iqbal Abdullah Harun, Additional Director-General (Administration) of the Ministry, Dr. Fahmidah Khanom, Additional Director-General (Development), and Mr. Abdul Abdul Hamid, Director General, Department of Environment (DoE) and Chief Conservator of Forests Morand Amir Hossain Chowdhury and others were present.
