Material creation and particle techniques




Hello everybody! I’m Finn Bogart. She is a 19-year-old second-year student at Haust University of Applied Sciences Digital Arts & Entertainment (DAE) majoring in game graphic production with a minor in technical art.

I only recently became interested in 3D and art. I joined DAE about 16 months ago and although I had no experience in this field, I quickly fell in love with 3D art. For the past two years, I have focused on developing and improving my skills. I was able to improve really quickly because I was surrounded by very talented people at school. I quickly learned my 3D skills and started turning my school assignments into portfolio pieces.

I’m still new in this industry, but I want to learn new things and improve every day. I hope this article inspires new artists in the industry to try new things, explore different opportunities, and above all, not be afraid of the challenges that come before creating your own project. I am. Also, starting the Trainstation project was pretty scary because I didn’t have any teacher guidance. But it was a lot of fun to make, and it’s really refreshing to work on a personal project apart from school work. I’ll share how I created this project from start to finish and my thought process for every step. This is my first time using many of the techniques and workflows, and I have little experience with the stylized world, so I’ll explain how I learned everything.
