They are the husband-and-wife duo behind Westchester’s Maid Brigade franchise, which they first founded in Chappaqua in 1996 and lived there for many years. The most common schedule is for homeowners to return to Maid Brigade every other week, but some customers continue with the service for weekly or monthly cleanings, Robin said. Most of their business is single-family homes, but crews specifically visit multifamily units in communities like White Plains and Mount Vernon, she said.

Maid Brigade also has a limited number of commercial accounts.

At the height of the pandemic, some customers canceled their house cleaning schedules as many people worked from home, while others increased the frequency of their appointments as they wanted to keep their living spaces as clean as possible. “There’s physical health and there’s mental health, and they’re both real,” Robin said. “We talk about this because cleaning is a form of health care. When we go out, we are providing for people’s health and well-being.”
