Fort Worth recognizes companies with environmental awards – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth



Recycling, reducing waste, or conserving water helps protect the environment, and it’s good when companies are recognized for their efforts.

Fort Worth recently celebrated 25 years of the city’s Environmental Excellence Award.

Companies were praised for their efforts to conserve water, reduce paper waste, design landscapes that use less water, and prevent pollution.

A total of 75 companies were recognized for complying with wastewater regulations.

Another 23 companies from six cities that contract with Fort Worth for industrial pretreatment services also received recognition.

Alcon, a Fort Worth-based manufacturer of ophthalmic pharmaceuticals, contact lenses and surgical equipment, has been named Industry of the Year at the City of Fort Worth’s 2023 Environmental Excellence Awards.

This award recognizes Alcon’s extensive efforts in environmental management and water pretreatment. Alcon was also named 2021 Industry of the Year.

In addition:

  • The Pollution Prevention Award was presented to Alcon. Anfarmco LLC; Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth. and Nouryon Surface Chemistry LLC.
  • The Innovation Award for Environmental Initiatives and Water Conservation was presented to Recaro Aircraft Seating Americas LLC. Lockheed Martin. Archon. and Lockwood Multifamily LLC.
  • Lockheed Martin also received the first-ever Community Waste Management Award.
  • Tarrant County College District has been selected as a Fort Worth Friendly Landscape Award winner.
  • The Fort Worth Police Department’s Barnett Station received the SmartWater Recognition Award for its commitment to sustainability and resource conservation.

The Fort Worth Water Department sponsors this award.
