Environment Secretary Sandeep Kaur Singh has tendered her resignation after a commendable tenure of seven years in the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources.

In his official statement, Mr. Singh made special mention of the current Permanent Secretary, Ms. Pita Wise, and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to his colleagues and permanent secretaries, past and present.

She acknowledged the invaluable guidance and unwavering support she received during her tenure.

Mr. Singh also thanked the Ministry of Environment for its team’s concerted efforts to make informed decisions aimed at protecting Fiji’s pristine environment and natural beauty. I expressed my intention.

Reflecting on his departure, Mr Singh expressed the hope that Fiji’s continued pursuit of development would be viewed through the lens of environmental sustainability.

Pita Wise, Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, thanked Mr. Singh for his dedicated contribution.

He noted that even during the transition period when the coalition government was formed in December, Mr. Singh continued to consistently demonstrate professionalism and dedication.

During the transition period, Mr. Singh will follow civil service guidelines and adhere to a standard 30-day notice period.
