Duration: 6 months
Daily rate: £450 – £550 (DoE)
Start date: As soon as possible (can also wait for suitable candidate)
We are looking for a contractor to coordinate the delivery and management of all non-production environments.
This includes identifying the required environment, coordinating readiness with development/release teams, and planning data updates.
You will work with program managers to support transformation delivery plans, including waterfall and agile delivery methods.
Analyze environmental requirements
Manage delivery of development and test environments (system testing, UAT, performance)
Manage environmental maintenance, renewal, and recycling
Provides technical consulting for environments and software deployments – expertise in underlying infrastructure, technology, and tools
Work with infrastructure teams to achieve capacity management (storage, memory, processors).
Supports project implementation team and BAU maintenance team
Document the environment and underlying components according to appropriate standards
Supports continuous improvement initiatives
Environmental management experience
Experience with IT architecture and infrastructure and systems development lifecycle, including DevOps and project management principles, tools, and methodologies.
Experience with software environments (client/server/web-based applications, SOA, ESB implementations, BI systems, etc.)
Familiarity with industry standard hyperscalers, software, and databases (Azure, SQL Server, Java, Unix, Wintel, Oracle)
Using formal tools for software control (GitLab and Subversion)
Using formal tools to manage software packages and deployed software
